God Is Always By My Side

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” –Isaiah 41:10

Over my life, I have always been surrounded by people who I knew loved me. It was these relationships that helped me believe in and worship the Lord. When I started middle school and started “growing up,” I felt that it was harder and harder to get closer to God. My relationship with Him became distant. However, even when I became distant, the Lord didn’t give up on me.

Starting high school this year wasn’t what I expected it to be. I had distanced myself from a friend, and then that girl told people whom I loved and trusted lies about me. Instead of consulting me, that person chose to forget about me and do things I would never have expected from them. I felt very alone at the time.

Now that I look back on the situation, I am grateful that the Lord was able to strengthen me by showing me who my true friends were; people who love and care about me enough to talk to me before believing everything they hear. God has proven that He will always stick by my side and uphold me with His righteous right hand. No matter what I may be going through or how alone I feel, God will strengthen me and show His love for me. Even when I am distant from the Lord, He will always be waiting for me. Although this may sound cliché, God is truly the most forgiving and upholding. From His first covenant with Abraham, to sacrificing His one and only Son on the cross, God promises to love me and always be by my side.

Dear Lord, I am so grateful that You are always by our side, no matter what we think or do. I pray that anyone feeling alone can find Your love and glory, and be strengthened by You. Let Your glory shine and show others of Your love and strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
