Roseanna Andersen

Director of Children's Ministry

When Roseanna and her husband, Paul, moved their three boys to San Diego in 1995, finding a new Lutheran church was their highest priority. After their first visit to PLC, they knew they were home. Roseanna joined the PLC staff in 1996. She finds great joy in watching kids and parents grow together in faith and she delights in coming alongside of parents as they bring their kids up in the Christian faith. At home…the joy continues as she spends time with her grandkids; singing, playing and teaching them about Jesus and His love...and showering them with hugs and kisses, of course!

Joy Bergman

Administrative Assistant

Joy has been member of PLC since 2000. She and her husband Bruce wanted a firm foundation on which to raise their two daughters, Cassie and Bella, and found that PLC offered exactly what they were looking for. After 20 years of participating in all things PLC, from baptisms to preschool, VBS, Confirmation and more, this position was a wonderful opportunity to serve God and her church community. Joy’s love for Jesus and passion for people make her a great fit for the office. In her spare time Joy likes to gather with her family and friends to laugh, make memories and enjoy good food. Stop by the office for a “Hi” and a smile. With a name like Joy, she has plenty to go around.

Adele Buffington

Director of Creative Arts

Adele has been on PLC's staff since 2000 and is very thankful for the ability to feed her passion for Jesus, people and music all in one place (a life trifecta!). She is 'definitely' Lutheran, being raised in Wisconsin as a Lutheran PK (Pastor’s Kid) and an alum of Luther College. Besides music, Adele enjoys being a voice for PLC, managing its print and digital communications and posting on its social media pages. Adele loves being a "girl mom" and is proud of her two daughters, Jennifer & Marit. You might not know that Adele is an adoptee and discovered her birth family in 2017. It has been amazing to learn about and get to know her new relatives!

Greg Hoffmann

Associate Pastor

Pastor Greg's primary responsibility at PLC focuses on the areas of pastoral care and discipleship (while, as an introvert, complementing Pastor Sean’s extroverted personality). Pastor Greg is married to Cindy, his high school sweetheart, and they have 3 grown children and 12 grandchildren (yep, 12!). Having grown up in northern California, the Hoffmanns have called San Diego home since 1987 when they came to PLC. In his spare time Pastor Greg enjoys woodworking, hiking, running and reading.

Rob Horne

Associate Pastor

Rob has been on staff at PLC since 2013 and primarily has administrative and operational responsibilities. He is a San Diego native and has never found a reason to leave ‘America’s Finest City.’ Rob enjoys time with his wife Nikki, and their two daughters Emma and Josie. As a family they enjoy camping, the beach, off-roading in the desert, skiing, and trips to the park. Rob is inspired by people who are good at their craft and have a passion for what they do. On a day off, you can find Rob riding his mountain bike on Black Mountain, exploring the desert, or working on a project at home.

Sean Kelly

Senior Pastor

Sean has been the Senior Pastor since 2012 and on the PLC pastoral team since 2007. Before coming to San Diego, he and his family lived in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. He and his wife Jenny were both born and raised in the Los Angeles area where they met and married. They have four sons, 2 grandchildren, a dog, no cats, and a great big extended family here at PLC.

Daniel Kuelbs

Director of Youth Ministries

Having grown up in North County San Diego, Daniel’s ministry journey eventually led him here to PLC in June of 2019 to fill the role of Youth Director, after 8 years of youth ministry in various paid and unpaid roles. He really enjoys being able to hang out with and mentor youth and all of the laughs and craziness that comes along with them. In his free time, if he isn’t playing video games you can often find him at his favorite local coffee shop or trying out a new taco shop in the area.

Yesha Proctor

Ministry Assistant

Yesha made PLC home in 2008 for her, hubby Matty, and their 3 boys, Leif, Finn & Xan. Ever since then, they’ve been volunteering for as many ministries as possible: the Nursery, Sunday School, VBS, Confirmation, Identity Youth Group, Alpha and most often, C-MENT. In 2018, Yesha was brought on as Stage Manager for C-MENT after loving volunteering for them over the past 8 years – woohooo! And now, you can finally find her in the office helping however she can. But, if you need something made, painted, fixed or simply created by hand, she’s your gal!

Liane Schreffler

Accountant

Liane joined the PLC staff in 2017. She and her husband Eric, have been members of PLC since 1994, joining shortly after moving to Rancho Peñasquitos from Los Angeles. Liane and Eric have two grown sons, Tim and Brian, who grew up at PLC. Liane has taught Sunday School (1st/2nd grade) and Confirmation (with Eric). She has also sewn a few VBS aprons and Confirmation stoles and sings in the choir. Liane enjoys quilting and her daily walks with her dog Shadow, but her greatest joy is spending time with family...especially her grandson! Liane can be contacted in the church office at 858-672-3466.

Paul Schwappach

Director of Worship

Paul Schwappach has been on staff at PLC as the Director of Worship since 2016. While the most visible aspect of his job is being a worship leader, his role has more depth to it as he oversees all audio/visual technology, many of the volunteer teams, and helps to plan and creatively think through just about every service outside of Sunday morning. He's not a hat guy but wears many of them throughout the week. In September 2019 he and his wife, Bethany, welcomed their first child into the world, Avery Charles. Outside of work Paul spends lots of time with his Avery and when he can, fits in a round of golf.

Shaby Tolo

Office Manager

Shaby spends 60% of her time managing PLC’s front office, 70% cleaning/preparing food, 90% exercising to Netflix, and 110% studying facts and figures. Don’t ask her how she finds the time! No really, just don’t. She lived overseas in Scotland, Norway and Holland before moving state-side to study accounting at San Diego State University. In addition to her twin sons Gabriel and Peter, she is blessed by Ben, her adoring husband of 25+ years with a penchant for writing bios. 😉

Janet Weber

Organist

Janet has helped lead worship services as an organist since she was a teenager. She started playing with worship teams while at PLC in the early 90’s. She loves to make music with PLC’s many talented musicians. Janet finds it especially rewarding to have musicians volunteer to share their music gifts, thus expanding PLC’s music ministry. She and her husband Joel are retired and blessed to live in San Diego.
