An Acrostic Psalm
By Donna Middlestead
In 2005, I attended Dr. Bill Creasy’s class on the Psalms. During that time, we were assigned with the project of writing an acrostic Psalm. Each line begins with the consecutive letter of the alphabet from A-Z. It was a meaningful experience for me and I suggest you try it!
Another day to praise the Lord!
Blessed be Your name!
Clouds above cover me as Your tent of protection.
Daily Your love continues.
Every moment I know You are with me.
Forever Your promise remains steadfast.
Gone are my worries and concerns:
Having You with me gives me peace.
I know I can trust in Your Word.
Just as Your Word promises,
Kindness, goodness, and mercy will follow me.
Leaning on Your promises
Make my life a life of joy.
Now and forever…
Only, if I let them.
Please keep me strong in my faith and obedience to You.
Quietly, I come before You in prayer
Remembering Your promise to be with me always.
Savoring the blessing You have given me.
Thank you, O God. Blessed be Your name!
Until my life’s end, I will praise Your name.
Valuing Your presence in my life.
What would my life be without Your love?
X would mark the hole in my heart.
You are everything to me. Blessed be Your name!
Zealous is my love for You. Blessed be Your name!
Dear Lord, thank You for all the blessings in my life. Knowing You are there is a comfort to me and brings peace and hope to my life. Amen.
