Prayer for Our Government

Lord, there is no authority except those whom You have established (Rom. 12:1-2). So, we bring all of our leaders before You now. Come alongside our government officials at the local, state, and federal levels. Guide them in Your truth to protect this great nation You created 245 years ago. Give those who follow You strength and courage to uphold, protect, and fight for our constitution. Bless their efforts. Bring us together as one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.
We pray for our federal government:
May our Executive Branch, President Biden, and Vice President Harris, turn their hearts to You so that they look to You for Your will and guidance each day. Give them great wisdom and understanding, integrity, and sound judgment, so they will make wise decisions regarding all aspects of our nation. Direct their Cabinet members to do their jobs with honor and the best interest of the citizens of the United States in mind and give them wise insights as they spend our tax dollars.
We pray for our Senators and Representatives. Guide all of our lawmakers to create laws that are good for our nation. Bring them into unity. Let integrity guide them and weed out those with deceitful intentions (Proverbs 11:3). Build up trustworthy men and women who hate dishonest gain (Exodus 18:21).
Give our U.S. Supreme Court Judges wisdom that only You can bring so they will administer justice (1 Kings 3:28) fairly and defend the Constitution.
We bring before You our state leaders:
Lord, You know who needs to be our Governor. Go before the upcoming recall and elections and put the person in place whom You desire to lead us. Keep all of our elections pure and trustworthy so that no voter fraud occurs.
For our Executive and Legislative leaders, let them have the citizens of California in mind as they write, debate, and vote on laws. Grant them Your divine wisdom and guidance as they carry out their positions as public servants.
Watch over all Judges statewide, those elected and appointed. Give them an added measure of wisdom as cases come before them so they may make rulings that are upright and unbiased for all involved. Help them to see and understand both sides.
We pray for our local leaders:
May the Mayors in San Diego County turn their hearts toward You and give them insight to address each situation according to Your will.
Guide our City Councils to hear the members of their districts so they can represent them accurately. Help them to vote on topics that are fiscally sound and right.
Be with our county’s Police Chiefs and Fire Chiefs to keep us safe. With the added tension from COVID lockdowns, more immigrants coming into our county, increased crime, and lack of rain, put Your hand upon them to make decisions that we may live peaceful and quiet lives (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Give them the support they need to do their jobs with honor.
We bring before You our County Officials. Allow them to understand the role they have in guiding our county with honor and integrity. Take away any hidden agendas and bring them to transparent accountability as they represent the citizens of San Diego County.
Lord Jesus, we ask You to expose any crime and corruption on all levels of our government. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander along with every form of malice that lies within our agencies (Eph. 4:31). Allow each leader to accept full responsibility for their conduct and hold them accountable for their actions. Bring revival in the hearts and minds of our public servants. Turn their hearts to seek You and to know Your truth. Bless this great nation and its leaders.
We ask this in the name of the One who is Ruler over all, our Great and Holy King, Jesus Christ, Amen.
