God’s Point of View

by Jane Josephs

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” –Jeremiah 33:3

Every now and again I get the urge to think about familiar scriptures from God’s point of view. Such was the case a few weeks ago when I was studying the 23rd Psalm. This beloved psalm never fails to help me in times of trouble. But as I was meditating on it, I began to hear it—not from David’s point of view, but from God’s. And here is how it sounded:

Dearest One,

I am your good Shepherd; I have made every provision for you to prosper.

Take my hand and I’ll lead you to places where you will find rest and refreshment for your body, mind, and soul.

The ancient paths are before you. Follow the narrow path that leads to life.

You know my voice; there’s nothing to fear, even in the darkest of nights. I am with you always; I’ve planted a hedge of protection around you.

When it seems as if discouragement and discord are winning the battles in your life, refocus, dear one. My table is set just for you. With me there is abundance. Come, sit a while for all is ready.

No matter what anyone says, I go before and behind you with goodness and love. I’m more than capable of cleaning up your mistakes if you’ll work with me.

I’ve prepared a place for you in my house so we can be together forever. I promise you will be okay.

Love,

Your Heavenly Father

Dear Lord, thank You for loving me with Your everlasting love. Thank You that when I call, You hear me. Help me grow in my knowledge of You and Your Word. Please deepen our relationship each day. To You be all honor and glory and praise. Amen.
