May 2018 Prayer Devotional

“You go before Me and follow Me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head.” -Psalm 139:5 (New Living Translation)

Waiting…at one time or another we have all found ourselves waiting for something. We wait for lights to turn green, for the blessing of marriage and family, for college acceptance news, for phone calls relaying test results, for home renovation projects to be completed, for employment opportunities, for relationships or bodies to be healed, for godly dreams to come to fruition…we have all waited or are currently waiting for something. It can be very difficult to remain at peace trusting God. David reminds us in Psalm 139 that regardless of the situations we find ourselves in, we can find peace in the promise that God is not only next to us in our circumstances, but He is also clearing the path ahead and watching from behind. His continued presence is a blessing to us.

  • Praise God for His peace and presence in all of our situations.
  • Pray for authentic and trusting relationships so that we as the Body of Christ can share and carry each others’ worries and burdens as we wait for God to act in our circumstances.
  • Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our world, our country, and our community bringing Godly freedom and revival.
  • Pray as led for a friend or neighbor whom God has placed on your heart.
