April 2018 Prayer Devotional

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms…”  –Ephesians 1:18-20

Each year at Easter, Christians celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the day His sacrifice saved us from our sin. Paul reminds us in his letter to the Ephesians that it is important to remember each day of the year that the same incomparably great power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave resides in all of us who believe in Him. Life moves at an incredible pace. Worldly trials and situations can quickly overwhelm us. During these seasons it is imperative that we remember how much our Father loves us and how near He is. This month as we pray together, let’s focus on praying our God’s restorative power into this world.

  • Praise God for His proximity to us.
  • Meditate on an area of your life where you could use more evidence of God’s hope and hand. Pray for an outpouring of His Spirit.
  • Ask God to place on your heart a friend, family, or neighbor who is in a season of need. Pray as led for the situation.
